As part of our business we travel a lot doing events for Companies, Colleges, private events etc… sometimes that will require flying as opposed to driving. To do this we have had to learn how to condense what we need at an event so that it will be easy to transport everything on an airplane.
First, We want to give a big shout out to Pete Marin from Airbrush Events who’s own travel kit was a big part of the inspiration of our kit…..Thanks Pete for a great contribution to the Airbrush Industry.
We do have a detailed video up on our You Tube channel to see all of this in detail.
This post will show you our two travel kits. One kit for doing apparel like t-shirts, hats etc… and another kit for doing tattoos and body painting.
The problem you will face in flying are the restrictions of what you are allowed to take on the plane as carry on. The main restriction will be the paint and compressor. These two items WILL be allowed to be checked but you will NOT be allowed to carry them on the plane.
This post will show you the kits themselves that contain everything we need to do an event except for the compressor, and the inventory. A small compressor that does not have a visible air tank will be allowed to be checked. The inventory will need to be shipped prior to the event.
The main case that we use is From Harbor Freight pictured below. It is the Apache 5800 Rolling Carry on case.
The case comes filled with foam pieces that are perfect to customize the case however you want.
The contents of the kit that we use for events where we will be doing “Apparel” such as t-shirts, hats, totebags, etc.. are as follows
•1 Easel •1 can of Spray Adhesive •1 roll of masking tape •10 cloth pins.
•1 pair of Pliers •1 xacto knife •2 extra airbrush tips. •2 extra airbrush needles.
•2 hoses •1 manifold •2 bungee cords •1 bottle of rubbing alcohol.
•2 shirt boards •4 shirt board clips •1 towel. •1 light •1 table cloth.
•1 extension cord •2 pens. •paint •airbrushes
Our Tattoo/Body Painting Travel Kit
The main difference with this kit and the “Apparel Kit” is that the airbrushes are not on the paints when packed up. They are kept in a separate pouch and then put on the paints when we arrive. This is simply because the tripods, display banner and stencil case take up more room in the case
•1 can of tattoos Spray Adhesive •1 pair of Pliers •1 xacto knife •2 extra airbrush tips.
•2 extra airbrush needles. •2 hoses •1 manifold •1 bottle of rubbing alcohol.
•1 towel •1 light •1 table cloth •1 extension cord •2 pens •paint •airbrushes
• 2 Display Tripods •Display Banner. • display cross bar •signs •baby powder
•baby powder brush • container for baby powder. •tattoo stencils.
So there you have it. This breaks down the two main kits that we use. Obviously they may vary from time to time depending on the event. Be sure to check out the video on our YouTube channel for more details and feel free to leave comments or ask us questions.
